Hear from the residents and community members whose lives have been touched by the Alma Heritage Project.
Everyone has a story to tell, and your voice is an important part of the Alma Estate's history.
We are inviting past and present residents to share their memories, experiences and reflections. Whether it is a cherished memory from years gone by, a story about community life, or your thoughts on how the area has changed, your contribution will help create a richer picture of life on the Alma Estate.
📸 Share photographs and memories that capture people, places and moments that matter.
🎙️ Record your experiences through written stories, voice notes, audio recordings or short videos.
❤️ Help preserve local heritage by ensuring the stories of residents are remembered and celebrated for future generations.
No special skills or experience are needed—just a willingness to share your story.
Every memory matters. Every story helps keep the history of the Alma Estate alive.
Every memory, whether big or small, helps tell the story of the Alma Estate. Together, our experiences create a lasting record of the people and community that make this place special.
Photographs, personal stories and shared experiences capture moments that history books often miss. They help future generations understand what life on the Alma Estate was really like.
Have a memory you'd like to share? Whether it's a few sentences, a favourite photograph or a cherished moment, your story could become part of the Alma Heritage Archive.
Once you submit your story, our project team will carefully review it to ensure it is respectful, appropriate and reflects the aims of the Alma Heritage Archive.
Your contribution may then:
🗂️ Become part of our digital archive, preserving local history for future generations.
🖼️ Be featured in a community exhibition, helping bring the stories of the Alma Estate to life.
📖 Help tell the wider story of the Alma Estate through our website, publications and community activities (always with your permission).
✏️ Be lightly edited for clarity where needed, while always respecting your voice, experiences and the original meaning of your story.
We want everyone to feel confident when sharing their story. As part of the submission process, you'll be asked for your consent before we use any written memories, photographs, audio recordings or videos. Your contribution will always be treated with care and respect, and you will remain in control of how your story is shared.
Every story helps preserve the history of the Alma Estate, ensuring the voices, experiences and memories of our community are remembered for future generations.
